Karen has written for more than a dozen publications, including The New York Times, San Francisco Weekly, Yoga Journal, Tricycle, Alaska Airlines Magazine, Alternative Medicine, Citysearch, and The New York Blade. She has written on nearly every subject, from politics to health to human interest and arts. She has worked as a theater reviewer, columnist, and beat reporter. She has also taught journalism at the university level in Guatemala City. In recent years, she has focused almost exclusively on feature writing, with a special emphasis on yoga and health.
