Karen has written for more than a dozen publications, including The New York Times, San Francisco Weekly, Yoga Journal, Tricycle, Alaska Airlines Magazine, Alternative Medicine, Citysearch, and The New York Blade. She has written on nearly every subject, from politics to health to human interest and arts. She has worked as a theater reviewer, columnist, and beat reporter, and has written profiles of some of the the country’s greatest thinkers in the areas of science, arts, health, and spirituality. She has also taught journalism at the university level in Guatemala City. Currently, she writes a column on the intersection between mindfulness and modern culture for 48 Hills, Examined Life.
