September 16-17, 2017
at Yoga Garden SF
Many people come to yoga to help heal old wounds, both physical and emotional. But residue from trauma can be a roadblock on the yogic path. If instructed with care, however, yoga can also help a student to work more skillfully with past trauma.
In this two-day training that I am honored to be co-leading with my mentor Sean Feit Oakes, we will investigate the nature of trauma, and offer wisdom teachings and contemplative practices aimed at helping practitioners work with trauma on and off their yoga mats. For those who are yoga teachers, you will learn how to carry this knowledge on to your students and create a yoga classroom environment that is trauma-sensitive.
This training can be taken by anyone but is a required element of YGSF’s Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Certificate program. This course also provides 16 Elective Contact Hours for YGSF’s 300 Hour Program.
Tuition is $395, or $345 if you enroll on or before 8/25.
